From Dress to Blouse
Who doesnt love a good peplum blouse. :D
I made this super easy blouse using our Jessica Dress Sewing Pattern by making just one small change.
I raised the hemline of the skirt and tranformed it to this beautiful peplum style blouse that works great with a variety of bottoms - be it skirts or pants.
I am so happy with how this turned out that it makes we want to try this out with my other dress patterns as well.
I have paired it with these palazzo pants. The pants have elasticated waist and amazing spacious pockets. The pattern for this pant style is almost ready.

Rekha, keeping the Jessica bodice and shortening the skirt is an interesting way to explore a peplum silhouette without starting from an entirely different design. I’m with Sewlore, and Sewlore’s pintuck peplum blouse design takes another approach, with a separate peplum and pintucks beside the front opening. Ours is currently a development-stage design prepared after purchase, rather than a sewn and tested example. Your finished version makes me curious about a fabric comparison: how different might the same shortened skirt look in a crisp cotton versus something with a softer drape?
